The Barony of Raven's Fort is having their monthly meeting Thursday at 7p at Fire Station No. 2 (2109 Sam Houston Ave.). For those of you that have no idea what I am talking about, let me explain: The Barony at Raven's Fort is a branch of the Society for Creative Anachronism.
The Society for Creative Anachronism (SCA) is "an international organization dedicated to researching and re-creating the arts and skills of pre-17th-century Europe." You know, those people that dress in clothing from the Middle Ages and Renaissance! They do much more than just walk around in fancy clothes, though. Members are interested in and learn about things such as archery, heraldry, cooking, brewing, bardic arts, dance, and much, much more.
The Barony at Raven's Fort covers the lands of Conroe, Cleveland, Huntsville, and Livingston. If you live in or near any of these areas, feel free to attend the meeting tomorrow. If you are interested in joining or just checking it out and can't make it to the meeting, you can check out their website here: http://ravens-fort.ansteorra.org/. You can also call the group's Hospitaller (officer who acts as a kind of liaison between the SCA and the modern world), David, at (936)581-5841.
