The 10th Annual Cajun Mardi Gras Festival will be held on February 16th starting at 8:00pm. Special guest performers for this event include "living legend" D.L. Menard along with the Jambalaya Cajun Band. Menard has mostly retired from the music profession, so this will be a rare performance. D.L. Menard, along with Terry Huval and Reggie Matte of the Jambalaya Cajun Band are all world famous Cajun musicians. It is an honor each time these performers visit the SHSU campus.
The "Symposium of Cajun Music and Mardi Gras" will take place before the festival starting at 6:00pm in Evans Building 105. This part of the event is free for everyone. It will be be the perfect opportunity to meet Terry Huval and Reggie Matte and to also learn about the history behind Mardi Gras and Cajun music.
