SHSU Presents Doubt: May 4, 2011 - May 7, 2011

Doubt: A Parable
May 4, 2011 – May 7, 2011
Showcase Theater

The SHSU Theater department will be performing  Doubt starting on May 4, 2011 and it will run until May 7, 2011. Written by John Patrick Shanley, Doubt ran on Broadway from March 31, 2005 to July 2, 2006. A movie adaptation directed by Shanley and starring Meryl Streep and Phillip Seymour Hoffman was released in 2009.

Doubt is a drama that takes place at St. Nicholas Church School in the Autumn of 1964.  What happens when the rigid Sister Aloysius Beauvier accuses the young and popular parish priest Father Flynn of committing a horrifying act with one of his male students? Without proof, how much damage can one person’s voice initiate? Found out by watching SHSU’s version of this Pulitzer and Tony Award winning play!

SHSU’s version of the play is directed by Larry Smiglewski and stars some of SHSU’s most promising actors.  Stay tuned for more information about the cast and this performance.

  1. Sounds interesting considering the fact that my uncle used to OWN the theater department. Where can I get tickets?

  4. The ticket location has probably not changed since your uncle owned the theater. Tickets can be purchased at the Ticket Theater Box Office on campus weekdays from 9:00am until 5:00pm and up to the start of a show during the days there are performances.
