Dog Safety Workshop: Huntsville City Hall

Dog Safety Workshop
Huntsville City Hall
August 29th from 4:00pm-6:00pm
FREE event! No registration needed!

Is "man's best friend" also "man's best listener"? That's what the R.E.A.D. Program believes. R.E.A.D stands for "Reading Education Assistance Dogs," and is a program that encourages children to learn how to read, as well as improve their reading skills, by reading to therapy trained dogs.

According to their official website located HERE, " R.E.A.D. dogs are registered therapy animals who volunteer with their owner/handlers as a team, going to schools, libraries and many other settings as reading companions for children."

Next Monday, the Huntsville City Hall will be hosting a Dog Safety Workshop that will be presented by the Huntsville Public Library and the Reading Education Assistance Dogs program. This workshop is the kickoff for the READ With the Dogs program for the new school year.

Excluding December, this program will be held the last Monday of every month.
