to extend the boundaries of the City of Huntsville

On September 6th, 2011 there will be a public meeting to discuss the proposed annexation to extend the boundaries of The City of Huntsville. If you would like to publicly speak about this issue, or if you would like to listen to the discussion of the meeting, then mark this date on the calendar and don’t forget to attend the meeting!

I am not certain if this meeting will be televised, but did you know that the City Council Meetings are, in fact, televised? Archived video footage can be found on the City of Huntsville website. If you have never watched a City Council meeting, I highly suggest that you watch one. They are both eye opening and surprisingly entertaining... and a little scary.

NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING



NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN TO ALL INTERESTED PERSONS, THAT:



The City of Huntsville, Texas proposes to institute annexation proceedings to enlarge and extend the boundary limits of said city to include the following described territory, to-wit:



Tract No. 1

Being 1.91 acres of land, more or less, situated in the WARREN BIRDSELL LEAGUE, A-6, Walker County, Texas, and being out of and a part of the called 219 acre "First Tract" conveyed by J.H. Thomason and wife, Marguerite Thomason, and Mabel S. Eastman to Horace Smith and wife, Alverta Smith, by deed dated March 22, 1940, and recorded in Volume 94, Page 190, Walker County Deed Records.



Tract No. 2

Being 24.04 acres, more or less, situated in the WARREN BIRDSELL LEAGUE. A-6, Walker County, Texas and being out of and a part of the called 71 acre "Second Tract” conveyed by J.H. Thomason and wife, Marguerite E. Thomason, and Mabel S. Eastman to Horace Smith and wife, Alverta Smith, by deed dated March 22, 1940, recorded in Volume 94, Page 190, Walker County Deed Records.



Tract No. 3

Being 48.05 acres, more or less, situated in the, WARREN BIRD­SELL LEAGUE, A-6, Walker County, Texas, and being out of and a part of a called 219 acre "First Tract" and a called 71 acre "Second Tract", conveyed by J.H. Thomason and wife, Marguerite E. Thomason, and Mabel S. Eastman to Horace Smith and wife, Alverta Smith, by deed dated March 22, 1940, recorded in Volume 94, Page 190, Walker County Deed Records.



A public hearing will be held by and before the City Council on the 6th day of September, 2011 at 6:00 P.M. in City Hall, Council Chambers, 1212 Avenue M, Huntsville, Texas, for all persons interested in the above proposed annexation. At said time and place all such persons shall have the right to appear and be heard. Of all said matters and things, all persons interested in the things and matters herein mentioned, will take notice.
